Instructions and Tips

Follow these instructions to make sure the cards are cropped correctly.

  • Use the UDID card PDF exactly as downloaded. A photo, a screenshot or a PDF saved again from another app may not crop well.
  • The UDID card PDF usually opens without a password. If it asks for one, a password box appears here.
  • Cropping for several people? Press Add to print list after each card, then Print all to put up to 5 cards on one A4 sheet.
  • Border not quite right? Press Edit under the result to move it.
  • If a card doesn't crop the way you expect, tell us in our Telegram Group Chat so we can fix it.

Where to get your UDID card

Applying for a UDID card and downloading it are free.

  1. From the Swavlamban portal

Log in on swavlambancard.gov.in with your enrolment or UDID number and the OTP, and download the e-UDID card and the disability certificate.

  2. Card not issued yet?

The card is issued after the medical authority assesses the disability. You can track the application on the same portal.

Printing the UDID card

  • Print at 100% or Actual size. Fit to page makes the card smaller than 85.6 × 54 mm.
  • The JPEG prints at the right size from any photo or PDF viewer set to 100%. The Word file already has the card placed at its exact size.
  • For PVC card printers, Standard (300 dpi) suits most printers. Choose High (600 dpi) if small text looks soft.
  • On paper, print front and back side by side, cut along the edges, fold, and laminate.

Questions

Is the e-UDID card valid?

Yes. The e-UDID card from the Swavlamban portal is the same card the government issues, and is accepted across India.

Is the disability certificate the same as the UDID card?

They come together but are separate documents. The certificate is a full page; the card is the pocket-size ID that E-Card Cutter crops.

Does the UDID PDF have a password?

Usually not. If a PDF does ask for one, E-Card Cutter shows a password box before cropping.

Is my UDID PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is opened and cropped in your browser, on your phone or computer. It isn't sent to any server.

About the UDID card

What UDID is

UDID, the Unique Disability ID, is a national ID for persons with disabilities, run by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. One card works across India, so the same proof serves every state and scheme.

The card shows the holder's photo, UDID number, type of disability and its percentage, as assessed by the medical authority. It covers the 21 disabilities recognised under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Cropping and printing it

E-Card Cutter finds the card in the e-UDID PDF and cuts the front and back to 85.6 × 54 mm, ready to print.
