About E-Card Cutter

What is E-Card Cutter?

E-Card Cutter is a free website that turns the PDF of an Indian e-card, such as e-Aadhaar, e-PAN or a Voter ID (e-EPIC), into a print-ready card. It finds the card on the page with AI, crops the front and back, and sizes them to 85.6 × 54 mm, the size of an ATM card.

E-Card Cutter has been cropping e-cards since 2021, and its only address is ecardcutter.com. Sites with a similar name on other domains are not run by E-Card Cutter.

It is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with UIDAI, the Income Tax Department, the Election Commission or any other government body, and it does not issue any document.

Is E-Card Cutter really free?

Yes, completely. Every feature is free: High quality at 600 dpi, Word export, the print list and the editor. There is no paid plan, nothing is locked, and there is no watermark on your cards.

Do I need to sign up or log in?

No. There is no account, no login and no OTP. Open the page for your card and start cropping.

Is there a limit on how many cards I can crop?

No. There is no daily limit: crop as many cards as you need, every day, for yourself or for every customer.

Is my Aadhaar or other document uploaded anywhere?

No. Your PDF is opened and cropped inside your own browser, on your phone or computer. It is not uploaded to E-Card Cutter, and the PDF password you type stays on your device too.

How does the AI crop work?

A small detection model, trained on official e-card PDFs, looks at each page and finds the front and back of every card. The app then trims each side to its printed border and sizes it to 85.6 × 54 mm.

The model runs in your browser. Your first visit downloads it, about 9 MB in all, and your browser keeps it for next time.

Which cards can I crop?

E-Card Cutter currently supports: Aadhaar, PAN, Jan Aadhaar, Voter ID, Ayushman (PMJAY), Maandhan Pension, e-Shram, EPF UAN, ABHA, UMID, Sambal, UDID, NIOS. Each card has its own page, tuned to that card's layout.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. E-Card Cutter works on smartphones and computers, in every browser: Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge, Safari and others. It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install. Safety Pro Max :)

What if my PDF doesn't crop correctly?

The AI looks for anything shaped like a card on each page, so most PDFs crop, even ones it has not seen before. If it finds nothing, the crop tool opens so you can mark the card yourself, and any result can be adjusted in the editor.

For the best result, use the PDF exactly as downloaded from the official portal: not unlocked, compressed or edited with another tool. If a card still doesn't come out right, tell us in our Telegram group or write to help@ecardcutter.com, and we will help and improve the cropper for that card.

Printing

What is the size of an Aadhaar or PVC card?

85.6 × 54 mm (3.37 × 2.13 inches). This is the ID-1 size, also called CR80, used by ATM cards and PVC ID cards. E-Card Cutter crops every card to this size.

How many cards fit on one A4 sheet?

Five. Each card is printed with its front and back side by side, and five cards fit down one A4 sheet at true size. Add cards to the print list from as many PDFs as you like and print them together.

Which paper should I use, and should I laminate the card?

Plain A4 paper works. For a sturdier card, print on thicker photo paper or card stock, cut along the edges, fold or stick the front and back together, and laminate it. A PVC card printer gives the most durable result.

Can I print the card on a PVC card printer?

Yes. Choose High quality (600 dpi) and save the card as JPEG, then open it in your card printer's software and print at the ID-1 (CR80) card size. In the editor you can place the front and back side by side or one above the other.

Does cropping change anything on my card?

No. E-Card Cutter only crops and resizes the card from your official PDF. Everything printed on it, including the photo and the QR code, stays exactly as the issuer made it. UIDAI states that e-Aadhaar is as valid as the physical Aadhaar letter.
